Board Members

Jim Culley

To foster a healthier society, to preserve disparate cultures and to ensure that our environment remains viable for future generations are all vital tasks that require vision rather than hope. I believe The New Sun Rising provides a grass roots medium for solution by planning and carrying out philanthropic objectives, established by a creative and thoughtful group of citizens.

To serve on the board of directors for such an organization is not only an honor, it fulfills a lifelong goal. I believe I a good candidate for three reasons: First, I have traveled extensively, to more than forty states and over thirty countries on five continents. Traveling has provided me with a unique perspective of society in a global sense as well as a tremendous respect for cultural diversity. Secondly, as a father of two young daughters I possess a strong desire to protect our earth and its natural resources. Thirdly, as director and chief clinician of Zelienople Physical Therapy I am skilled at management and oversight as well as developing and implementing strategies that directly affect the health and wellness of our community. I would like to thank the members for their support.

Matt Diaddigo

Matt Diaddigo is a graduate of Woodland Hills High School, Allegheny College and The University of Pittsburgh. He's caddied, landscaped, delivered pizzas, waited tables, serviced power plants, taught English and started a business.

He sees The New Sun Rising as an organization that will provide some direction and/or motivation for the well-intentioned folks out there who would like to make a postive contribution to their community but aren't
sure how to go about doing it.

An-Jey Su, Treasurer

During high school I often quoted Locke's theories on social contract at forensic events. In an effort to develop my character and resume I started volunteering afternoons at the local hospital and library. Thus a foundation had been laid for my interest in expanding my circle of influence and efforts to improve my society.

I have a few ideas in my mind about some projects I'd like to get started. I think that strength is in numbers when trying to carry out altruistic endeavors. I could use the support system to turn my ideas Into reality. I’m stoked about contributing my skill set to The New Sun Rising to assist others in turning their ideas into reality.

Brian Wolovich, Board Chairman

I’m a resident of Millvale, PA and a middle school teacher at Quaker Valley Middle School. Working with the New Sun Rising is all about empowerment. Empowerment of me, of you, of our friends and family; to turn our visions into reality by combining energies for the sake of positive change in our region.

Sometimes opportunities slap you in the face and you find a way to ignore them. Waking up one day and realizing the potential positive impact which we could collaborate and create, cannot be ignored. There are so many amazing people wanting to help out when they are aware of opportunities and its fits their skills and interests, but don’t know how to go about doing it. We have an opportunity to promote community involvement to a younger generation, and help our friends to turn their visions into reality. I am excited to use what skills and connections I have to give the New Sun Rising and our neighborhoods the energy it deserves.

Scott Wolovich, Executive Director

An organization like The New Sun Rising has been a personal goal and dream of mine, and I am excited to be realizing it now. Having a structure to empower people to not only participate in, but also initiate projects; is a unique and powerful dynamic that will stimulate an active membership. Personally, I have found that providing services to others and spreading the word on heartfelt issues; fulfills a part of my life that is invigorating. Varied experiences both personally and professionally, with people across the life and economical spectrum, have taught me that everyone has something to teach, and everyone has something to learn.

I am honored to be involved in an organization with people from different backgrounds with a common goal, coming together to make things better than they were yesterday.
