Welcome to SamSamland is a mixed media gallery event, slated to open April 1st 2011 at ARTica (5110 Penn Avenue) in Garfield. Sam Perry, creator of the installation, seeks to create a conversation in the community about the small and large traumas that we go through by showing the delicate balance between mourning and celebration. The project will focus on the importance of community by touching on something personal, yet universal. Design of the gallery installation will be a true collaborative endeavor, including a wide spectrum of media and approaches, and will use all recycled materials.
