While nonprofit and social enterprise leaders have access to massive amounts of information, much of it remains underutilized. Research shows that greater data use in the social sector leads to stronger operational effectiveness, fundraising, and impact. In 2019, New Sun Rising launched the Power in Numbers initiative to enhance the data and advocacy capacity of smaller community-based organizations.
The Vibrancy Portal is a technology platform that helps nonprofit, social enterprise, and community leaders become more data-informed, impoving their financial sustainability and creating an even greater impact. The user-friendly portal provides accessible and actionable insights through two primary functions: a community data explorer and organizational data manager.
- Community Data Explorer– compare conditions in your community to others using 50 publicly available data sets and curated indices
- Organizational Data Manager – understand capacity strengths and weaknesses, manage finances, track impact, find collaborators, and generate data story reports
