The Vibrancy Fellowship is established by New Sun Rising, an innovative 501(c)(3) community development organization serving the Pittsburgh region. The Vibrancy Fellowship provides an opportunity for first year graduate students to: research, synthesize, and report metadata, develop inclusive socio-economic frameworks, gain practical experience in the acceleration of promising social ventures, and strengthen cross-sector, community, and institutional relationships.

Vibrancy Fellows receive a $4,000 stipend for their participation in the 2017-18 cohort.  Expectations include active contributions via virtual weekly check-ins, monthly in-person cohort meetings, and semi-annual presentations facilitated by New Sun Rising and their collaborators over a 9 month period (Oct 2017 – June 2018). Participants will deepen their knowledge of social innovation ecosystems, develop practical applied research techniques, and contribute to scaling the impact of local social ventures. Vibrancy Fellowship activities focus on creative investigation and development of New Sun Rising’s Vibrancy Incubator framework which strives to build Opportunity, Sustainability, and Culture; through Planning, Connectivity, and Resources; to create authentic community Identities.
