Pittsburgh Women MAKE It

Highlighting women artists, entrepreneurs & makers, Pittsburgh Women MAKE It is part blog, part printed publication, and part networking event. All three components aim to promote the work of these women to a broader community. Independent project manager Rachel Saul Rearick has curated the first slate of subjects; visit Pittsburgh Women MAKE It to read bios, preview the work & VOTE to select the first women to be highlighted:

“I’m asking the community (you if you’re reading this,) to select which women I interview first during the project period, via an online voting process. My plan over the next 6 months is to conduct the initial 12 studio/office visits. Twice per month I’ll update this blog, so that you can find out what inspired each woman to get started; see photos of their product lines or creative advancements; and learn what they’re planning next.”

“Then in May, I’ll be calling on the professional bloggers, media outlets, shop owners, or anyone with an interest, to meet us at a networking event.  At that event is where I hope to hand-off the torch so to speak, for additional opportunities to come to life for all of these women. Please be sure to come back soon to see the initial list of women who are doing amazing things in and around Pittsburgh, and then don’t forget to cast your votes for the in-depth sessions!”

“Thank you for taking the time to engage and learn more about these women artists, entrepreneurs, and makers.” – RSR
